Course: Literature Research Using Databases and eJournals

Course Content:

This course addresses questions regarding how to correctly indicate bibliographies and quotes, introducing library-oriented information sources, comparing between library sources and internet searches, selecting subject specific information sources, search strategies, how to archive quotations.
By using concrete example and taking questions from participants, the course also addresses accessing original documents, ILL, document delivery services, online access to local licensed electronic documents, linkage of electronic documents via references, obtaining local non licensed electronic documents

Target Group:

JKU students currently writing a thesis or dissertation, students, faculty, researchers from all faculties – at the time of registration, please indicate your subject area, major, etc.


Basic knowledge of computer and internet use, basic knowledge of literature research using LISSS, participants are encouraged to bring laptop computers (with wireless reception) however, this is not a requirement.
