Information: System Upgrade

System Upgrade at the Library

Beginning in the New Year (2017/2018) the Main Campus Library at the Johannes Kepler University will transition and implement a new system. Please be advised that the library's operating hours and some work areas will be affected.
The information below is to be understood as inclusive.

Limited Services

Service Interruption - Book Loans
The loan desk will not be able to access your information and history (and other related accounts, etc.) during the following dates:
December 14, 2:00 PM - December 17, 2017
January 1 - 7, 2018

In preparation for the system transition, any materials due after December 15, 2017 will be automatically extended to January 2, 2018. There will be no overdue notices sent out during this period.

Service Interruption - LISSS
Due to the circumstances as mentioned above, the online LISSS catalog will not be available as follows:
December 14, 2:00 PM - December 17, 2017
January 1 - 8, 2018
We cannot accept extension requests, reservations, and magazine orders at this time; searches and access to our e-media services via LISSS may be limited.
Please be advised that the database information systems DBIS, the electronic journals library EZB and diverse publishers' platforms will remain available and accessible. The work on LISSS should be completed by January 8, 2018, and you should have full access to our online catalog by no later than January 9, 2018.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact our library staff members.

Service Interruption - Inter-Library Loans
Inter-library loan services will not be available during the system transition period (between December 14, 2017, 2:00 PM, to January 7, 2018). Please place your requests as soon as possible and contact our inter-library loan staff directly.

Loss of Data/Information

Due to this upgrade, some information and history will be lost. This will affect:

If you have reserved any books currently checked out to someone else, this information will be lost in the system transition. Library staff members in the loan department will enter the information individually after the system transition. If you no longer need the one or other book reservation, please notify the loan department by January 3, 2018. The library staff will thank you!

eShelf Services
If you have a watch list in LISSS, etc. and require this information in the future, print and save your information before January 1, 2018.

Loan History
If you need your loan and account history, print and save your information before January 1, 2018.
You will still be able to view the lists in your LISSS user account.
