Lanzhou University, located in the capital of Chinas north eastern Ganzuu province, is one of the oldest universities in China. Founded in 1909 it celebrated its 100th anniversary last year. Lanzhou University is primarily focused on Physics, Biology and Chemistry, with software and notably the School for Information Science and Engineering, which DSLab is part of, being the youngest of the Faculties on campus. For chinese relations Lanzhou University is not very large. Roughly 85 000 students are enrolled resulting in about 7000 graduations each year.
