Terms and Conditions

General

The following terms and conditions set out the legal rules applicable to the Gmunden Retreat on NeuroIS 2017 (June 12-14, the retreat starts on June 12 at 7pm) and the NeuroIS.org Training Course 2017 (June 12, 9am-5pm). Participants shall be bound by these terms and conditions upon registering for the conference and training course and are advised to read and understand these terms carefully before registering. The organizer will not accept any conditions contradictory to or deviant from these general terms and conditions.

Organizer

Responsible for the organization of the conference is the Johannes Kepler University Linz, Department of Business Informatics - Information Engineering, located in Linz, Austria.

Registration

Registration to the conference must be done through the online registration system. Participants will receive an automatic confirmation of the registration details. If you do not obtain anything, please send an email to angela.andorfer(/\t)jku.at to make sure that the organizer has received your booking. Registration will only be effective on receipt of the registration fee or after authorization of credit card payment. Please notify any corrections to your registration immediately.

Fees and Payment Conditions

Retreat: The registration fee is € 400 and 320, respectively, and includes the welcome reception (June 12), social event (June 13), lunch (June 13 and 14), coffee breaks (June 13 and 14), the Springer proceedings, and free transportation service from specific hotels to the venue.

Training Course:
The tuition fee is € 100, and includes refreshments, coffee, and tea, as well as lunch.

Participants are responsible for booking accommodation directly with the hotels. A selection of hotels and guesthouses can be found on the conference website: www.NeuroIS.org. Please use online payment (Master Card, Visa, American Express), PayPal or EPS when registering for the retreat and training course modules. All payments are made in Euro.

Cancellation

Request for refund, both for the retreat and the training course, must be in writing via email to angela.andorfer(/\t)jku.at, and is subject to the following schedule: received by May 12, 2017, full refund less Euro 30 administrative fee; cancellations received later will not be accepted, the registrant will be liable for the full conference registration fee. Substitutions are permitted.

Participants, who do not cancel and do not attend, will still be responsible for the full registration fee. All cancellations and changes must be submitted in written form – with indication of full name, invoice number and bank details for reimbursement – to angela.andorfer(/\t)jku.at.

Retreat:
The organizer reserves the right to modify the content of the program, the speakers, the times of presentations, and the venue (only within the Town of Gmunden, Austria). If the number of participants is insufficient (at least 15 participants), the organizer reserves the right to cancel the conference and all related products and/or services without any liability on his part. In the case of a cancellation by the organizer participants will be reimbursed the registration fee actually paid.

Training Course:
The organizer reserves the right to modify the speakers (due to significant reasons only) and the venue (only within the Town of Gmunden, Austria). If the number of participants is insufficient (at least 10 participants), the organizer reserves the right to cancel the training course and all related products and/or services without any liability on his part. In the case of a cancellation of the training course by the organizer participants will be reimbursed the registration fee actually paid for the course.

Liability

The organizer does not accept liability for the up-to-dateness, correctness and completeness in respect to retreat and training course documentation and content. The organizer will not assume any responsibility whatsoever for any damage or injury to persons or property during the entire event (June 12 - June 14).

Photographs etc.

The organizer may free of charge and without the further consent of the participants use and release video, pictures, and shots taken of the participants and/or their works (such as posters, excerpts of presentations, or lectures) during the retreat and training course for reports of the conference (e.g., on www.NeuroIS.org) and announcement of events in future.

Privacy Policy

All personal data provided to the organizer for registration will be treated as confidential. The data shall be used and stored for further processing and documentation purposes. The information will not be re-used for an incompatible purpose. Data shall be delivered to assigned service providers, as deemed necessary for the successful performance of the conference. The organizer will only disclose information to third parties if that is necessary for the fulfillment of the purpose(s) identified above.

Severability Clause

If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid, the invalidity of that provision will not affect the validity of the remaining provisions of these Terms and Conditions, which shall remain in full force and effect.

Disputes

All agreements between the organizer and the participant and all disputes which may arise between the organizer and the participants shall be exclusively subject to Austrian law. Court of jurisdiction shall be Linz, if not otherwise required by the Austrian Consumer Protection Act.
