The conference dinner will be held on September 5, at 8 p.m. at the Restaurant Pöstlingberg Schlössl (http://poestlingberg.at), which is located on the Pöstlingberg, a mountan overlooking the City of Linz.
Originally a pilgrim site with a well-known church from 1748, the Pöstlingberg became a major tourist attraction after the construction of a mountain tramway, which today connects the Hauptplatz in the city center with Pöstlingberg station.
The tramway was opened in 1898 as one of the worldwide steepest adhesion railways with a maximum grade of 11.6%. The meter-gauge electrical railway was renovated and re-gauged in 2008 in connection with Linz' role as European Capital of Culture 2009. Hotel/Restaurant Pöstlingberg Schlössl was established in 1898 next to the train station, and was reopened after renovation in 1997. From here one has a fantastic view over the Danube and the City of Linz and, on a clear day, all the way to the Alps.
