Doctorate Degree in Law
The professionally-oriented doctoral program offered at the Faculty of Law, Johannes Kepler University Linz has been designed for students to engage in advanced, independent study and research and continue to contribute to and foster the development of academics and science. Graduates in doctoral degree program work autonomously to both master both subject matter and related research and methodology at an advanced level. Graduates possess a broad knowledge base as well as expertise in an area of specialization and are able to expand scientific knowledge in various legal fields as well as implement research-led analysis of abstracted legal literature.
The doctorate program consists of one section of studies which is a six-semester period. During this time, candidates must successfully pass all subject examinations.
Graduates of the doctorate degree program in Law can pursue academic and scientific research careers at universities or other external areas. Graduates are qualified to educate and support junior researchers as well as earn more advanced qualifications to work in conventional legal professions as well as other legal fields in business, society and politics.
