Social Economics - Master's Degree

The Master’s degree program in Social Economics provides in-depth, supplementary academic professional education and training. The program is an extension of the Bachelor’s degree program in Social Economics offered at the Johannes Kepler University Linz. The Master’s degree program in Social Economics further explores disciplines and concepts covered in the Bachelor degree program, including the relationship(s) between economic sciences, politics, and society as well as encouraging active discursive discussion. The program has been designed to teach students how to pursue academic and scientific activity independently in order to best prepare themselves for professional occupations in diverse fields of practice.
 
The Master’s degree program in Social Economics provides educated students with opportunities to acquire analytical aptitudes designed to meet goals, learn about courses of action in regards to socio and socio-political advocates, and learn more about key socio and socio-political spheres of activity. To meet these goals, the degree program in Social Economics conveys skills and aptitudes designed to teach students how to assess ideological requirements, evaluate general conditions of socio and socio-political activities, and classify welfare state conceptions in a more general context of state and democratic theories, the contextualization of socio and socio-political instruments as well as their evaluation in the foreground of each of their theoretical basic assumptions. The main focus includes research-based approaches to convey interdisciplinary problem-solving skills in theory and practice.

Students will individually supplement and intensify their skills and knowledge in this area by focusing on a broad selection of subjects in business, social sciences and other elective courses.

Graduates of the Master's degree program in Social Economics are qualified to pursue a number of professional occupations:
