The Wilhelm Macke Award
Named after the founder of physics degree programs at the JKU Linz, the Wilhelm Macke Award for Physics has been presented since 1997 in recognition of outstanding Bachelor and Master's theses. Three theses are selected during a preliminary round and after a presentation to an audience, the audience members then select winner of the Wilhelm Macke Award by text message voting.
The audience is comprised of physics students, high school students from throughout Upper Austria and their teachers, those interested in physics as well as the presentors' friends and family members.
