GeoGebra Once Again Selected to Participate in Google’s “Summer of Code” Program

For the second time, the open source software project at the JKU, GeoGebra, has been selected by web search engine Google to be a part of their “Summer of Code” program. For three months, students from around the globe can contribute to this open source software with the financial support of Google. GeoGebra was selected during the course of an international selection procedure.

The European Union and 5 EU Countries Create the First European Research Infrastructure. Austria and the JKU are On Board

José Manuel Barroso, the President of the European Commission, recently signed legislation for Austria, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and the Czech Republic to create the first European-wide research infrastructure “SHARE-ERIC”. Cross-border research on ageing will be conducted in three stages up to the year 2024, creating a solid knowledge base for a social system with a future. Univ.Prof. Dr. Rudolf Winter-Ebmer (Institute of Economics at the JKU) will head the Austrian team.
