Sometimes 13 can be a lucky number. This year, over 4000 high school students attended the 13th annual Studies Information Fair on campus held from September 19 - 21. Agreement Between the JKU and CETYS University

The JKU and CETYS University in Mexicali (Mexico) have worked closely together since 2008. Recently both universities signed a partnership agreement and have agreed to expand mutual activities. The agreement addresses student exchange, including summer programs and diploma degree programs in Robotics, International Management and Communications & Information Management. Future plans also include offering a double MBA degree in Global Management.

JKU Research: New Software Designed to More Efficiently Diagnose Cancer

Cancer not only impacts the lives of those affected but also includes a number of different forms of illness. In addition to more well-known forms of cancer, such as breast cancer, there are a large number of subtypes. At the moment, only few subtypes are known and this can sometimes affect treatment. In a joint research project with the TU Graz, Harvard Medical School and the University of Rostock, the JKU has developed software designed provide biologists and medical doctors with a type of "atlas" with information on cancer subtypes.

Career Counseling at Upper Austria's Studies Information Fair 2012

The Upper Austrian Student Information Fair 2012 will take place from 9:00 AM to 2:15 PM at the JKU campus from September 19-21, 2012. The three-day fair will provide opportunities for high school students to learn more about educational opportunities at academies, colleges, universities of applied sciences, universitiy and other learning institutions in Upper Austria after graduation.

JKU Networks with Namik Kemal University in Tekirdag

On Monday the Johannes Kepler University (JKU) welcomed distinguished guests: Minister of Justice Beatrix Karl and Turkish Ambassador Ayşe Sezgin came to Linz to take part in signing a cooperation agreement between the Namik Kemal University Tekirdag (NKU) and the JKU Linz. Cooperation efforts will include joint research projects in the fields of Social Law and Social Policy as well as a comparison between Turkish and Austrian legal norms. In addition, efforts will be made to increase student exchange between Austrian and Turkey.

Honorary Professors: Honors in South America for Rector Hagelauer and Vice-Rector Roithmayr

In recognition of their dedication and commitment to internationalization and joint cooperation, Rector Richard Hagelauer and Vice-Rector Friedrich Roithmayr (Johannes Kepler University Linz) were honored at Peru's largest university, the Universidad Ricardo Palma in Lima, and presented with the title "Professor Honorario Universidad Ricardo Palma”, and by the Universidad Technologica del Peru together with Luis Garcia-Moron of the Latin America Center also presented with the title "Professor Honorario Universidad Technologica del Peru”.

Million Euro Project for JKU Research on Health and Ageing

The Institute of Economics at the Johannes Kepler University (JKU) Linz has been awarded the management of a large research study. Under the direction of Prof. Rudolf Winter-Ebmer, the fifth wave of the Survey on Health, Ageing, and Retirement in Europe (SHARE) will be conducted in Austria and will receive funding in the amount of one million Euros.
