School Students Select Andreas Sippl as the Winner of the Adolf Adam Computer Science Award

On December 20, 2012, the second annual Adolf Adam Computer Science Award was presented at the Johannes Kepler University (JKU) Linz in recognition of the best Master’s degree thesis from the past year. Four finalists presented their work in front of an audience/jury of over 250 school students from 10 different local schools. Students voted for the winner via text message. DI Andreas Sippl emerged as the clear winner after presenting his work titled: “May I Have Your Attention – wie intelligente Displays Aufmerksamkeit gewinnen”.

The World’s First Flexible and Transparent Image Sensors

A research breakthrough at Institute of Computer Graphics, JKU: Prof. Oliver Bimber and Alexander Koppelhuber M.Sc., have developed a revolutionary new image sensor. Made in Austria, it is the world’s first flexible and completely transparent image sensor.

Invitation to the 2012 Adolf Adam Computer Science Award

Once again the Departments for Computer Science at the JKU will present the “Oscar” of awards for the best Master’s degree thesis submitted this past year. The award, named after Prof. Adolf Adam (founder of Computer Science studies in Linz) will be presented on December 20, 2012 (1:00 – 3:00 PM) at a ceremony at the JKU. Those in attendance will serve as both audience and jury: Last year approximately 250 school students in attendance voted for the winner by text message.
