JKU Supports Refugees

The Johannes Kepler University is taking part in the MORE program organized by the University Conference (UNIKO). The MORE initiative was created to help those who have a refugee background access the university. The program is for refugees who are qualified to enroll at a university or who have already completed a primary degree program.

TeichWerk: The "Sandburg" Team will operate the New Venue

The JKU TeichWerk "launch" is just around the corner: "Sandburg" bar operators Markus Lott, Tibor Szabo, Wolfram Niedermayer and Karl Weixelbaumer will run the JKU TeichWerk venue.

JKU: Dedication of New 670,000 Euro Nanostructure Printer

JKU base-knowledge researchers like to get to the bottom of things by creating the smallest structures and making them visible. Researchers at the Institute for Semiconductor and Solid-State Physics at the Johannes Kepler University Linz work mostly on the nanoscale level and now have a new electron beam lithography facility at their disposal. The €670,000 investment was made possible with funding provided by the Upper Austrian government.

A New Culture of Welcome at the JKU

2500 newly enrolled students will begin a new phase of life and kick off their academic studies at the Johannes Kepler University Linz this fall. It is of utmost importance to the JKU to warmly welcome these new students to the university and ensure that the start of studies go as smoothly as possible. Led by Rector Meinhard Lukas, the university management will be inviting all new students to a welcome reception at the new JKU “Teichwerk” venue on Thursday, October 8.

New JKU Rector Meinhard Lukas: The Beginning of a Greater Vision

This morning the inauguration ceremony took place at the Johannes Kepler University (JKU) Linz. Richard Hagelauer handed over the office of University Rector to his successor, Meinhard Lukas. The auditorium at the JKU was filled to capacity as the audience witnessed an academic celebration that will mark new beginnings.
