"The Living Memory of Mauthausen"

On Tuesday Hans Maršálek, survivor of the Mauthausen concentration camp and director of the Mauthausen Memorial for many years as well as one of the most important persons within the Austrian resistance was awarded an honorary doctorate degree by the Faculty of Social Sciences, Economics and Business at the Johannes Kepler University (JKU) Linz. He was honored for his services in the founding and preservation of the Mauthausen Memorial and for his meticulous documentation of the concentration camp’s history.
