Mentoring Program for Young Researchers at the Johannes Kepler University Linz, Paris Lodron University of Salzburg and the Danube University Krems
In 2010, the universities of Linz, Salzburg and Krems developed a joint program titled “Mentoring III” to support the academic career paths of women at all three universities as well as take advantage of synergies through the collaboration of the three universities. “Mentoring III” enables young women researchers to build mentoring relationships with established women professionals in academia and areas of science who share similar interests. The program fosters core competency skills in academic fields and helps participants to establish a professional network.
The participating mentees will find support for their academic career planning and development as well as strengthen inter-university contacts. The “Mentoring III” program has been designed to contribute to the greater goal of increasing equal opportunities for women in academia, science and research as well as increasing the number of women in leadership positions at universities.
The program took place for the second time from November 2014 to April 2016 and concluded with an official closing ceremony on April 7, 2016 at the JKU Linz.
