Dr. Armgard von Reden

Dr. Armgard von Reden has been teaching courses on diversity, international management, intercultural management and data privacy management since 2012 at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science at Leibniz University in Hannover. She is also a company consulant for issues in data privacy.
In 1987 she began working at IBM as a speech writer for those in executive management. Several international management positions followed, including positions in Stuttgart, Paris and at IBM's liaison office in Brussels.

From 2002 to 2011 she was the director of IBM's liaison office for Germany, Russia and CIS countries. She was also responsible for areas of university relations, corporate social responsibility, association management, data privacy and protection for the Middle East and Africa, and for relations with standard organizations in Germany and Europe. During this time, she was also an executive sponsor for three years for the IBM Women’s Leadership Council.
She was released from IBM from May 1992 to December 1994 to manage the German Federal Government's communications office and serve as a speech writer for the President of the German Federal Parliament.

Before joining IBM she spent a year as a legislative assistant in the US House of Representatives and the Senate and worked as a journalist for a German newspaper and the London Economist and taught at Georgetown University in Washington DC.

Armgard von Reden holds a Masters of Arts and doctorate degree in Politics, Sociology, and History from Georg August University in Göttingen.
