Application Procedure/Deadlines

HOW ... Do I Apply?

Please complete an online application form, select a coordinator, and indicate which universities you would like to attend. In order to calculate your grade point average (e.g. using the JKU App), you must include grades from your most recent JKU transcript!

WHAT... Needs to be Submitted Online?

  • Passport size photo (does not have to be a biometric photo)
  • Letter of Intent in the language of instruction (and in English, if English is not the language of instruction). If applying by more than one program coordinator, please copy all "Letters of Intent" into one pdf file and send the one file!
  • The last page of the "Letter of Intent" should include an outline of your planned courses at the partner university (supplementary information for applications submitted to Dr. Born-Lechleitner).
  • Current CV in language of instruction (and in English, if English is not the language of instruction. Please use the Europass CV - you may omit sections that don't apply)
  • Copy of latest transcripts, including all exams passed at the JKU (available in KUSSS under 'Document Services')
  • Certificate indicating your level of language skills providing the language is not a part of your degree program and does not appear in your transcripts)

WHAT Else is Important?

  • Study abroad programs are a maximum of one year (with studies beginning in Winter Semester).
  • You may not attend two different host universities one after the other. You must spend at least one semester in between at the JKU.
  • Students may not extend the period of exchange abroad.
  • You can study abroad more than once. Applications are considered on a "first come, first serve" basis.
  • To apply you must be enrolled in a full-time degree program at the JKU and/or enrolled in a graduate degree program.
