Professorship in Software Science

Announcement of a Faculty Opening at the Johannes Kepler University Linz, Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences – Professor of Software Science – (permanent employment contract in compliance with the Austrian Universities Act of 2002, §94 para. 2 subpara. 2 UG 2002)

The Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences at the Johannes Kepler University Linz invites applications for a tenured position of

Professor of
Software Science

to begin immediately. The position is subject to §98 of the Universities Act. An evaluation of the chair will follow after a four-year period.

The successful candidate will be expected to professionally represent and further develop the areas in teaching and research. See: for a detailed description of the position online. The successful candidate will also manage the Softwarepark Hagenberg. The Softwarepark is a technology center at the Johannes Kepler University Linz which spans the entire chain of innovation in the field of software from basic research to innovative ideas for businesses. The center intends to expand significantly in growth and operations.

Applicants for the position must have a doctorate and post-doctorate (venia docendi) degree (or comparable post-doctorate qualifications) in the field of Computer Science, Mathematics, and/or Business Informatics.

A salary above the minimum amount as stated in the collective agreement will be voluntarily offered. Depending on the current position (present salary) the annual gross salary will be between €70,000 to € 90,000 (minimum salary as stated in the collective agreement plus voluntary additional payments).

The Johannes Kepler University Linz wishes to increase the proportion of female faculty and, for this reason, especially welcomes applications from women.
