Professorship in Politics and Social Policy

The Faculty of Social Sciences, Economics and Business at the Johannes Kepler University Linz invites applications for an employment position under private law for a

Professor of
Politics and Social Policy


to begin immediately. An evaluation will follow after a four-year period.

The Professor is to represent the field of Politics and Social Policy, in teaching and research, in all its facets. This means that he / she will be studying structural change in society, its consequences and, in particular, political and institutional means of managing these transformations and their consequences. The applicant should be engaged in theoretically oriented and empirically rigorous research of institutions and policy processes. He or she should also be familiar with the Austrian political system and welfare state

Applicants for the position must have a post-doctorate (venia docendi) degree (or comparable post-doctorate qualifications) in the advertised subject area

A salary above the minimum amount as stated in the collective agreement will be voluntarily offered. Depending on the current position (present salary) the annual gross salary will be between €80,000 to € 100,000 (minimum salary as stated in the collective agreement plus voluntary additional payments).
