Professorship for Gynocology and Obstetrics

Announcement of a Faculty Opening for a Professor of Gynecology and Obstetrics at the Faculty of Medicine, Johannes Kepler University of Linz

The Faculty of Medicine at the Johannes Kepler University Linz invites applications for a full-time employment position under private law for a

Professor for Gynecology and Obstetrics

to begin immediately. The appointment is in accordance with § 98 of the 2002 Universities Act. A faculty performance review will be conducted after a five-year period.

The successful candidate will represent teaching, research and patient care in the professional field stated above in its full depth and breadth and will continue to further develop the area. The professorship is part of the management of the University Clinic of Gynecology and Obstetrics. The position is for an initial five-year period. The successful candidate is expected to be willing to assume management of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the State Hospital Freistadt.

Applicants for the position must have a post-doctorate (venia docendi) degree (or comparable post-doctorate qualifications) in the field above. Comprehensive information about the position is available in the enclosed detailed job description.

Two representatives from the “Kepler Universitätsklinikum” will be a part of the appointment commission, serving in a consultative capacity. As part of the appointment procedure, the JKU also reserves to right to assess the prospective applicant’s qualifications (particularly in regards to patient care skills) during an on-site visit of the workplace.

Depending on the current position (present salary) the annual gross salary will be between €66,953.60 (minimum salary as stated in the collective agreement plus voluntary additional payments), payment above the amount stated can be negotiated in accordance to corresponding qualifications. Talks regarding the legal conditions pertaining to service and salary will be conducted with the management of the “Kepler Universitätsklinikum”.
