Access Information for JKU Students

Beschreibung: In order to log into the JKU system (KUSSS, Moodle, WLAN, u:book, external eMedia access via HAN, library catalog,...) you must be enrolled at the university and have an active JKU account. The JKU account will be deactivated 4 weeks after the student is disenrolled from the university.

Change in Student ID Number

New legal stipulations require that student ID numbers in Austria be changed from 7 to 8 digits.
The change took place at the JKU on April 18, 2017.

Beginning now, you must always use your new 8-digit student ID number. 7-digit student ID numbers will now have a "0" in front of them. Previously issued 7-digit student ID numbers will remain unchanged (i.e. 1234567 01234567). Beginning Winter Semester 2017 the first digit will be 1-9.

User ID

Die User-ID zum Login an den JKU Systemen (WLAN, KUSSS, Moodle, Aleph, usw.) bleibt gleich. Loggen Sie sich bitte weiterhin mit k + der bisherigen 7-stelligen Matrikelnummer als Ihre User-ID ein. Sie müssen KEINE User-ID oder Passwörter umstellen.

Your user ID to log into the JKU systems (WLAN, KUSSS, Moodle, Aleph, etc.) will remain the same. Continue to log in with k + the previously used student ID number as your user name. You DO NOT have to change your user name and password(s).

User ID Configuration

  • 0 in front of the student ID number: "k" + the last 7 digits of the student ID number (i.e. student ID number 01234567 User ID: k1234567)
  • 1-9 at the front of the student ID number: "k" + 8-digit student ID number (i.e. student ID number 12345678 User ID: k12345678)

Change Your JKU e-Directory Password? Activate User Account for the First Time or When Re-Enrolling
      - Click on "Activate Account".
      - Enter your Login ID (= User ID), Last Name and Activation Code (Date of Birth as follows: YYYY-MM-DD).
      - Click on "Ich stimme zu" (="I Agree") and then click "Weiter" (="Continue").
      - Create your JKU e-Directory password (please adhere to password guidelines on this page).

  • Send a form with a legible copy of a photo ID to servicedesk(/\t)
  • Come by the Service Desk in person and bring a valid photo ID.
