Plastics Engineer

Plastics and polymers have become an indispensable part of our everyday lives. Packinging, everyday items, furniture, machines, and even components for cars and airplanes are made of plastic. As a plastics technician, you will create plastic items, components or semi-finished products yourself. You will also learn to control and program machinery and equipment. The position also combines modern information technology with craftsmanship such as welding, soldering, and drilling. Sounds like a lot? Don't worry as during the four-year program you will also learn to wort with microscopes as well as rolling and cutting machines. There will be more than enough time to practice and apply what you have learned .

What you need: Technical knowledge for these kinds of activities is particularly important. You also need to be environmentally and safety-aware. Together with a knowledge of chemistry and good workmanship you will have what it takes to become a plastics engineer.

Apprenticeship Period: 4 years
