The Apprenticeship Program

Educating apprentices is a tradition at Upper Austria's largest institution of research and teaching: Since 1985, over 140 young people have successfully completed an apprenticeship at the JKU.

At the JKU we not only educate students, but apprentices as well. You can choose to complete an apprenticeship in 10 different areas according to your interests and let your talents shine.

The special part about an apprenticeship at the JKU is that in addition to learning on-site and mandatory attendance at a vocational school, there is a rotation system that allows you to spend time at and learn about other departments and work areas at the JKU. You can also take internal training classes to enhance your professional skills, such as a class on telephone skills, social media, personality training, communication skills, computer classes, or language courses in English.

In short, completing an apprenticeship at the JKU not only helps you learn a profession, it also provides opportunities for personal development.
