Graduate Program in Global Marketing Management

Program Objectives:
An increase of export quotas and business, globalization, business purchases, and the merging of internationally active companies has created new challenges and tasks in the field of business. Companies are expanding their goals, pursuing globalization and dealing with internal, as well as external, cultural changes. To skillfully meet these challenges head on and ensure a company’s sustainable success as well as initiate improvement, today’s managers and employees require solid theoretical and practical oriented business education.

The program aims to:
1. Educate participants by using the latest scientific and professional methods in post-graduate and professional experience to qualify participants for top management positions in global marketing. The program is offered in English only and courses will be taught by top international faculty.
2. Based on knowledge in Economics and Business Administration as well as Export Marketing, managers in the Global Marketing Management program will learn through case study methods and introducing tools to allow them perform well in an international environment. The program implements applied learning techniques, interaction, and teaches new strategic perspectives and ways of thinking. To meet the high requirements of a globally operated business, great emphasis is placed on continual education on intercultural levels.

The program has been designed for:
- graduates of universites and universities of applied sciences
- managers of import and export companies as well as
- independent business owners

The program aims to didactically blend theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience to facilitate direct application of course content to a business environment. To complete the program, applicants will be required to submit a comprehensive Master's thesis.

Admission Requirements:
(1) Applicants seeking admission to the “Global Marketing Management” program must have successfully completed a Bachelor, Master's, or Diploma degree program, or a comparable and equivalent degree program.
(2) Higher qualified candidates will be given preference. The final decision will be rendered by the Vice Rector of Teaching upon recommendation of the program's Academic Director.
(3) If space in the program is available, applicants who do not have the required academic qualifications but can show documented proof of a minimum of 5 years of professional work experience and achievement (including incomplete studies and continuing education courses of marginal length) may be considered for admission.
(4) As of Winter Semester 2010/2011, § 24, section 6 of the laws governing university studies at the Johannes Kepler University will apply to the percentage of admitted applicants who have equivalent qualification. Beginning in 2011, the percentage of applicants admitted to the program may not make up more than 50% of the total number of program participants.
(5) The start of a new program is contingent on a minimum number of admitted participants. Admission will become official when the minimum number of participants is attained.

Degree Awarded: Professional Master of Business Administration (PMBA) (for examinations successfully completed before Dec. 12, 2010, the academic degree Master of Business Administration (MBA) will be awarded)
