What do I need to be aware of when adding an additional major or changing from a non-degree seeking program to a degree-seeking program?

a) I have added an additional major to my current major.

In this case, you need to be aware that academic degree programs are independent of one another. This means for each additional major, you cannot also complete courses required for another major you are enrolled in.

b) I am enrolled in a course as a non degree-seeking student, am allocated to the course but am or will switch to enroll into a degree-seeking Bachelor's degree or Diploma degree program.

OR

c) I am enrolled in a degree-seeking program, have been allocated and will complete/discontinue my studies this semester and have or will enroll in another Bachelor's degree or Diploma degree program for the first time.

In general, at the time of course registration the system will check in accordance with the StEOP requirements if the course can be completed or not. If you change your major (this also applies when changing from a Diploma degree program to a Bachelor's degree program), or change from a non degree-seeking program to a degree-seeking program, you are subject to the StEOP requirements for the "new" degree program.

During this time, you cannot complete courses you are registered in if the StEOP requirements are not considered fulfilled, either by credit transfer or that the grade was not yet issued before the course(s) end.

In regards to credit transfer/recognition, please see: "How does credit transfer/recognition work?"

Course allocation is, however, maintained even if you have not yet completed the StEOP requirements. Even if you actively taking part in the course and complete the work, a grade cannot and will not be issued. We therefore strongly advise against taking courses that you are not allowed to take if the StEOP requirements are not fulfilled. We ask you that you please officially withdraw from courses you are not allowed to take via (KUSSS) (up to the first class session) or tell the course instructor or institute that you would like to withdraw from the class.
