VO Digital Image Processing

Learning Outcome

Comprehension of methods and application for image based measurement techniques including space based and specrum based procedures; basics of human and biological vision; industrial application examples; morphological operations; object recognition

Course Content

  • Selection of scene illumination including the problem of shadows
  • Image acquisition and components of optical systems
  • Two-dimensional sampling process (CCD sensor)
  • Image transformation in spatial and frequency domain
  • Image enhancement (noise reduction, sub pixel resolution, etc.)
  • Digital filtering and reconstruction (e.g. Wiener Filter)
  • Image analysis and computer vision (morphological operation)
  • 2D and 3D data acquisition from image data
