SMIDE - Smart, Managed and Integrated Decision Environment

The purpose of this thesis is to discuss the problem with the finding of logistics service providers during a tendering process. After an introduction to decision support systems and an overview of cutting edge technologies, the underlying problem is being analyzed. In the last section a solution for the problem of selecting logistics providers during a tendering process is introduced. This is going to be done by using cutting edge technologies to create an analytics engine called Smide. The goal is to simplify the tendering process and automate parts of it. This allows logistics consultants to focus on other task instead of evaluating trucking companies. Additionally, a technical specification of Smide and its architecture is given at the end of the last section.
