About us

Welcome to the INSTITUTE OF ANALYTICAL CHEMISTRY at the Johannes-Kepler-University Linz!



The research of this Institute is in the frontline of organic analytical chemistry using state-of-the-art instrumentation in chromatography, electrophoresis, mass spectrometry, sample preparation and related techniques. Environmental analytical chemistry as well as industrial analytical chemistry – especially analysis of polymers – is covered within ongoing projects.


Besides basic research, application-oriented research in cooperation with partners from industry is considered important.

The staff of the Institute is also committed to high-quality teaching of all aspects of analytical chemistry for students studying chemistry, technical chemistry, biological chemistry, and molecular biology.
