University assistant

Institute for Chemical technology of Inorganic Materials from the Technical-Natural Sciences Faculty of Johannes Kepler University Linz, offers a 4 years position (50 %) as university assistant beginning with 01.09.2017 (or later) for a diploma or master graduate in Chemistry, Physics or a related engineering field. We are looking for enthusiastic, highly motivated applicants with practical and theoretical knowledge in the area of electrochemistry. Practical experience with different materials characterization equipments would be an advantage.
The main research area is focused on the combinatorial development of new materials with applications in the field of (photo)electrochemical energy conversion. In collaboration with the team co-workers, the combinatorial material libraries production and the physical characterization should be performed, as well as the detailed electrochemical investigations using scanning electrochemical methods. Other tasks include the participation in assisting in master's lab course programs. Good written and spoken English language is necessary due to the international team. The opportunity of doing a doctoral degree is given and desired at the end of the 4 years.

The income is in line with the collective contract for employees in Austrian universities and for a 50 % position results in a gross income of 1300 € per month, 14 times per year. An additional payment might be possible by collaboration in other projects.

Diploma Theses

The Work for the Diploma and Master theses can be started at any time. Topics can be chosen from a wide range of options, with the emphasis on much preparation or analysis. The goals of the Diploma and Master courses is to learn extensive experimental methods and to be able to answer any question on the subject.
