The article „Differences between Tight and Loose Cultures: A 33-Nation Study“ (led by Michele Gelfand of the University of Maryland and co-authored by Iris Fischlmayr) published in the May 27, 2011 issue of the journal SCIENCE was awarded the 2012 Gordon Allport Intergroup Relations Prize. This prize is given by the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues to "the best paper or article of the year on intergroup relations" (www.spssi.org).
