Content Erna Szabo MBA

The article „Differences between Tight and Loose Cultures: A 33-Nation Study“ (led by Michele Gelfand of the University of Maryland and co-authored by Erna Szabo) published in the May 27, 2011 issue of the journal SCIENCE was awarded the 2012 Gordon Allport Intergroup Relations Prize. This prize is given by the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues to "the best paper or article of the year on intergroup relations" (

The book Culture and Leadership Across the World (Chhokar/Brodbeck/House, Mahwah 2007) including a chapter by Erna Szabo, was awarded the 2009 Ursula Gielen Global Psychology Book Award. This award is presented by the International Psychology Division of the American Psychological Association to the authors/editors of a recent book that makes the most significant contribution to psychology as an international discipline and profession.
