Best paper award to Christoph Gradl at FPNI2016 - 9th FPNI Ph.D. Symposium on Fluid Power in Florianopolis, Brazil.

Christoph Gradl got the best paper award for his paper and presentation, entitled: “A combined hydrostatic hydrodynamic bearing based on elastic deformation” at the last FPNI PhD Symposium in Florianopolis, Brazil. This award is represented by the Wolfgang Backè medal.

This award is represented by the Wolfgang Backè medal. FPNI - Fluid Power Net International became at this event Global Fluid Power Association by a merger with Fluid Power Net International and is the only world spanning scientific association devoted to fluid power, i.e., hydraulics and pneumatics.

  • Die Servohydraulik umfasst alle technischen Systeme, bei denen hydraulische Aktuatoren im geschlossenen Regelkreis betrieben werden
  • Breiten Raum nimmt die Vorstellung der Technologie servohydraulischer Komponenten, insbesondere Servoventile und -zylinder ein
  • Der Schwerpunkt liegt auf mathematischer Modellbildung, numerischer Simulation und dem nötigen Verständnis zur Anwendung der vorgestellten Technologien.
  • Etwa ein Drittel der Zeit wird an Fallbeispielen geübt, wobei ausgewählte Entwurfsverfahren der Regelungstechnik in der Anwendung demonstriert werden.

  • Servo hydraulics comprises all systems using hydraulic actuators in a feedback control loop.
  • The course introduces the technology of servo hydraulic components, especially servo valves and servo cylinders.
  • The focus lies on mathematical modelling, numerical simulation, and the necessary comprehension for the application of the presented technology.
  • About a third of the course is dedicated to case studies showing the use of selected methods taken from control theory.
