Bizkick - Real StartUps

This course takes place once a year and was first offered in the year 2007. Participants experience a new way of acquiring Entrepreneurship Know-How. This course can be chosen by students from natural and engineering sciences but also from business and economics. "Learning by doing" is in the center of the course! The course is structured as follows:

1. Students form groups of 4-5 persons and develop business ideas for a company which is really founded during the term.

2. Groups decide which idea to pursuit and receive € 10,-- StartUp financing from tech2b, the cooperation partner for this course. The all groups have 6 weeks time in order to achieve first revenues and hopefully profit during this period of time. Students work on the idea, try to get more funding and search for the first customers.

3. During the whole term students get coaching in order to solve the problems during the startup period.

4. After 6 weeks all entrpreneurial activities must be terminated and the tree most successful groups are elected. These three groups take part in the big finals for prizes and have three competing teams from the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria Campus Wels. "Bizkick" is offered parallel at Wels and JKU in order to see who is the best entrepreneurial team of the year.

This course can be chosen as an elective by natural science and engineering students. There is no registration via KUSSS if you are interested please contact the staff from the institute.
