Joint Master's Degree Programme

Bachelor Programme

University of South Bohemia (USB)

The University of South Bohemia (Jihoceská univerzita) was established in 1991 in the regional centre of the South Bohemia Region, the town of Ceské Budejovice, about 150 km south of Prague and 100 km north of Linz. There are 7 faculties and two University Institutes:

Faculty of Sciences (PrF)

The Faculty of Science was established in 2007 based on the former Faculty of Biological Sciences. It is placed on the university campus on the western edge of the town. The campus includes student residences and Institutes of the Biology Centre of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. Research at the faculty is focused on biology and ecology in accordance with the concept of ”integrative biology”, which puts strong emphasis on the evolutionary aspects of modern biology and ecology including molecular biological and biotechnological approaches. However, new interdisciplinary research areas on the border of biology with chemistry, physics and mathematics are currently developing.
