04/2015 MGB - ACT: Company Presentations

This year’s ACT company business presentations took place from April 16 to 23, 2015. The ACT program is a joint, graduate global business degree program between the Johannes Kepler University Linz (Austria), the University of Victoria (Canada) and the National Sun Yat-sen University in Kaohsiung (Taiwan).

Selected students from all three universities spend three months each in Canada, Taiwan and Austria. In addition to international group projects, they also work on various company tasks. This year, the exciting and informative business findings were presented in front of university professors, guests from partner universities, and company representatives. The JKU has cooperated and worked closely with the Federation of Austrian Industries and a number of Austrian companies who fund and support the Global Business Master’s degree programs (ACT, Troika, and an upcoming program with partners in Shanghai and Lima).

We are pleased to welcome the following companies as project partners this year:
• voestalpine
• Tannpapier
• Greiner
• Fronius
• Rosenbauer
• Rubble Master
• Pöttinger

Both companies and students alike benefit from the ACT program. Companies receive detailed, well researched findings and useful insight while students acquire valuable insight into real business practices and can make beneficial contacts with companies. For the first time, students in this year’s program can also earn a double degree at National Sun Yat-sen University (Taiwan) as part of the international program. At the beginning of May, seven Austrian students will take on this challenge.

On this 10th anniversary, we at the ACT program would like to take this opportunity to thank our partner companies and the Federation of Austrian Industries for their unwavering support, particularly the voestalpine. The voestalpine has been a staunch supporter and active participant of the program for the past 10 years.
