10/2015 Kick-Off for the MGB – Troika Program in Russia

This year’s Global Business Master’s degree program “Troika” kicked off in the middle of October in Russia. Students will spend the first three months of the program studying Higher School of Economics in Nizhny Novgorod in Russia.
Students from Italy, Austria and Russia started the program with a team building session organized by our partner university in Nizhny Novgorod. The international group of students worked together to put their teamwork skills in climbing, archery and laser tag to the test. The multi-cultural class will start the new semester together as a team.

This Master’s program is a joint graduate degree program between the Johannes Kepler University Linz (Austria), the Higher School of Economics in Nizhny Novgorod (Russia) and the University of Bergamo (Italy). This extraordinary, one-year program gives participants from three different universities an opportunity to study in three very different countries and a chance to actively improve language skills in Russian and Italian. The program also gives students a unique opportunity during their stays abroad to learn more about each country’s economy and culture. Italy is Austria’s second most important trading partner and area-wise, Russia is one of the largest countries in the world as well as one of the most important producers of raw materials.

Beginning in January, students will spend three months studying at the JKU before heading to Italy at the end of March for the last part of the program. In Italy, students will supplement their theoretical knowledge by working on a project with together companies in the Milan area, thereby acquiring more hands-on, practical international business experience. The program concept is unprecedented, providing students an opportunity to expand on important skills and learn how to work together successfully with colleagues who have different cultural backgrounds.

Next year’s program will begin in October 2016 and prospective students can submit an application during International Week beginning November 9. The "Troika" Global Business Master’s degree program is managed by Daniel Semper, MA MA of the Institute of Organization and Global Management Education.
