12/13: Markus Schörgenhumer from LCM received two major scientific awards - the Wenzel Award and the Anerkennungspreis des Bundesministeriums für Wissenschaft und Kultur - for his Master thesis on coupling LIGGGHTS to a multi-Body code HOTINT. PartFlowMod congrats to these achievements!

11/13: Christoph Goniva has been invited to deliver a keynote lecture at a workshop on sediment transport modelling at the Institut für Geotechnik (University Hamburg Harburg). In the wake of this workshop he is going to co-supervise a dedicated PhD work.

07/13: Mark Schmeeckle from Arizona State University (US) applies CFDEMcoupling for his research on sedimentation transport in rivers. Results of this work are being published in scientific journals like Water Resources Research or Journal of Geophysical Research.
07/13: In the framework of a joint summer internship with University Udine Daniel Queteschiner works on coupling LIGGGHTS to a pseudo-spectral method resolving turbulent wall boundary layers.
07/13: Mathias Dankl works on implementing a mechanical model for the deformation on Red Blood Cells (RBC's) into LIGGGHTS. Interaction with continuous fluid flow will be realised by Lattice Boltzmann simulations and Immersed Boundary Method by Philippe Seil.
07/13: Lukas von Berg from Montan University Leoben starts an summer internship on experiments of segregation effects in fluidized beds. This work is funded by COMET/K1MET program.
