Terms and Conditions


The following terms and conditions set out the legal rules applicable to the EMSLIBS2015 Conference (“Conference”). Participants shall be bound by these terms and conditions upon registering for the Conference and are advised to read and understand these terms carefully before registering. The Organizer will not accept any conditions contradictory to or deviant from these general terms and conditions.


The conference is organized by the Johannes Kepler University Linz / Institute of Applied Physics in Linz, Austria.


Registration to the Conference must be done through the online registration system. Participants will receive an automatic confirmation of the registration details. If you do not receive a confirmation, please send an email to emslibs2015(/\t) to make sure that the Organizer has received your booking. Registration will only be effective on receipt of the registration fee or after authorization of credit card payment. Please notify any corrections to your registration immediately.

Fees and Payment Conditions

The early bird registration fee is EURO (€) 450,- for regular participants and € 300,- for students. The fee includes admission to all conference sessions, EMSLIBS2015 bag and kit, morning and afternoon refreshment breaks, lunches, excursion, welcome cocktail and social dinner. Early bird registration ends on 30 June 2015. Thereafter, the registration fee is € 550,- for regular participants and € 400,- for students. The fee for accompanying persons is € 100,- and includes the Welcome cocktail (food and drinks) and the Conference dinner.
Travel, accommodation, and all other expenses are excluded from registration fees and are not covered by the conference organizers.
We only accept online payment by credit card (Master Card, Visa, American Express) when registering for the Conference. After the online payment you will receive an automatic e-mail message with details on the financial transaction. All payments are made in Euro currency.


Participants shall be entitled to cancel their registration within a period of 7 days after registration at no cancellation charge. In this case the registration shall not become due. Notwithstanding the preceding provision the following shall apply: If cancellations are received by 31 July 2015, the registration fee will be reimbursed minus an administrative fee of € 50,- (Euro). If cancellations are received after 31 July 2015, there will be no refund and the full amount will remain due. The date of receipt shall be decisive. Participants, who do not cancel and do not attend, will still be responsible for the full registration fee. The Participant has the right to appoint a substitute at any time without additional cost.
All cancellations and changes must be submitted in written form – with indication of full name, registration details, invoice number, and bank details for reimbursement – to the Conference office at emslibs2015(/\t) .
The Organizer reserves the right to modify the content of the program, the speakers and the times of presentations. If the number of participants is insufficient, the Organizer reserves the right to cancel the Conference and all related products and/or services without any liability on his part. In the case of a cancellation by the Organizer participants will be reimbursed the registration fee actually paid.


The Organizer does not accept liability for the up-to-dateness, correctness and completeness in respect to conference documentation and content.
The liability of the Organizer - regardless of the legal cause - is limited to cases of gross negligence and willful misconduct

Photographs etc.

The Organizer may free of charge and without the further consent of the participants use and release pictures and shots taken of the participants and/or their works (such as posters, excerpts of presentations or lectures) during the Conference for reports of the Conference and announcement of events in future.

Publication of Abstracts

The Organizer may free of charge and without the further consent of the participants publish the abstracts that are accepted for oral or poster presentation at the Conference (homepage and book of abstracts). The participant ensures that the submitted abstract (text, figures, further content) conforms to the intellectual property rights (IPR) and does not infringe IPR of third parties. The conference organizer is not responsible for any IPR issue regarding the publication of abstracts at the conference webpage and in printed form whatsoever.

Privacy Policy

All personal data provided to the Organizer for registration will be treated as confidential. The data shall be used and stored for further processing and documentation purposes. The information will not be re-used for an incompatible purpose. Data shall be delivered to assigned service providers, as deemed necessary for the successful performance of the Conference. The Organizer will only disclose information to third parties if that is necessary for the fulfillment of the purpose(s) identified above.

Severability Clause

If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid, the invalidity of that provision will not affect the validity of the remaining provisions of these Terms and Conditions, which shall remain in full force and effect.


All agreements between the Organizer and the Participant and all disputes which may arise between the Organizer and the Participants shall be exclusively subject to Austrian law. Court of jurisdiction shall be Linz, if not otherwise required by the Austrian Consumer Protection Act.
