What is EMFAIC?

EMFAIC is an abbreviation for Emerging Markets Finance & Accounting International Conference. The host of this conference is the Department of Corporate Finance of the Johannes Kepler University Linz. The main conference language is English, but depending on interest there will be a track in German language besides the track in English language.

Emerging Markets are economies that are progressing towards becoming more advanced, generally by the means of rapid economic growth and industrialisation. In the last decades these nations have experienced a significant expanding role in the world economy and the political frontier. Not only because of the changing environment of Emerging Markets but also due to the diversification of financial markets the need for adoption of common global accounting and finance practices intensifies. By accomplishing this needs the conference aims to promote the multidisciplinary approach by encouraging and providing the circumstances to exchange experiences and ideas from different disciplines to further encourage scientific curiosity in research and practical work.
