Relaxed Atmosphere at the Final Research Projects Event

As part of a festive closing event last Wednesday July 7, 2021, the Institute of Business Informatics - Information Engineering celebrated research projects submitted during the 2021 Summer Semester. The event had been held as a "virtual project fair" during the past two semesters in lieu of the pandemic and this semester, approximately 90 students and research partners could take part in the event on campus and in-person.

The event took place in the open space between Science Park 2-3 and featured music by the JKU Band. Following the opening remarks by Prof. Dr. Krumay and lecturer Dr. Rückel, the students presented their research findings. At the start of the semester, students had been divided into groups to conceptualize their project topics. As in the past, many interested industrial partners were recruited to help conduct the research for the projects. Ten groups presented their findings in the form of posters and management papers. Students presented the following projects:

  • Decide-O-Bot
  • Developing and Evaluating an IT Balanced Scoreboard
  • SOC in Critical Infrastructure
  • Novel Features for Digital Communications
  • Information Systems for a Student Dormitory
  • Current Importance of the M-A-T System
  • Changing Information Management through Digitalization
  • Test Automation of a Private Bank's Service Platform
  • Analyzing Operational Data of IOT Devices and Developing Innovative Use Cases for Users
  • Recommendations to Implement Knowledge Management

The interesting topics and comprehensive findings resulted in a number of extensive discussions between everyone in attendance. Students not only had an opportunity to present their expertise and share their experiences, but also get direct feedback from other professionals in the audience. Following the presentations, guests enjoyed refreshments and an opportunity to meet professionals as well as think about new projects. In summary, the closing event was an ideal format to support communication and social networking.

The Institute of Business Informatics - Information Engineering would like to sincerely thank all of the students, project partners, administrative personnel, and the available technologies. We look forward to an upcoming event during the 2022 Winter Semester!
