In addition to an award-winning university cafeteria that provides JKU students and employees with 2,600 various menus daily, there are numerous cafés and restaurants on the campus. One of them is the JKU TeichWerk: A building anchored at the edge of the university pond. It's all about the sausage! The new "Obelisk" opened it's doors in September 2020. What is it, you ask? A new, contemporary sausage stand for a new generation - and it could also be considered more of a sociotope. Designed to be a culinary home for everyone from meat-eaters to vegetarians, it's a snack bar that offers more than just original architecture. After all, we eat with our eyes.
And since the early bird is known to catch the worm - as well as the Blunznbosna - "The Obelisk" opens at 7:00 AM. The menu features a variety of Austrian fare such as the Käsekrainer, Leberkäse and Bosna, as well as Hermann's meatless sausages, salads, and farm-fresh yogurt. Chef Jürgen Lonsing has also unveiled a special dish: a sandwich containing special ham and arugula lettuce. Or would rather have a Pusztalaibchen?

Need a break and want to stretch your legs a bit? There are some nice places to eat at just off campus! Here are a few:
Choose from two daily menus served at the KHG Mensa: soup, a main vegetarian or meat dish and - depending on the meal you order - with or without a salad. Are you starving? Or just want a bite? In addition to a normal-sized portion, you can order a small portion, if you prefer. You can switch out the soup, salad or bread accompaniments and buy something for dessert. In the summer we offer larger salads to enjoy as a main meal.
The Raab Cafeteria - Lounge.Restaurant.Bar at the International Student Center Julius Raab and Summer House Hotel has a whole new look. In addition to the variety of menu items served at the restaurant, you can enjoy coffee and other beverages in the lounge.
Freshly brewed coffee to kick-start the day, a delectable breakfast before heading to work or to class, meeting friends for lunch, afternoon cake & coffee, or an "after work" drink on campus in the evening while enjoying freshly made pizza - that's what the new café is for.
A quick run to the bakery around the corner? Not so easy these days, especially if you value bakeries inspired by old-world traditions. But we have one located right on the JKU MED Campus!
When hunger comes calling, SPAR is just around the corner! The new SPAR supermarket has a prime location, providing first-rate, all-round care at the Kepler University Hospital in Linz.
