The Role and Function of the
Committee for Equal Opportunities.

The Committee for Equal Opportunities (AKG) counteracts discrimination by university bodies that are based on gender, ethnicity, religion or belief, age, or sexual orientation (so-called protected characteristics) and provides consulting services, advice and support to employees and university boides at the Johannes Kepler University (JKU) in these matters.

With regard to protecting the characteristic of gender, the Committee for Equal Opportunities (AKG) pursues a goal of equality between women and men that goes beyond prohibiting discrimination. The goal is to use appropriate measures and policies to eliminate the under-representation of women at all organizational units, at all hierarchical levels, and in all functions and activities.
