Social Economics.

The Bachelor's degree program in Social Economics provides a broad education in social and economics sciences and aims to equip graduates with a strong skill set to solve problems and address social, cultural, and interdisciplinary issues at the crossroads of business, politics and society. The program conveys base-knowledge studies covering important theories, topics, and methods of societal and social policy, sociology, business, and economics.  Students can select a specialization according their interests.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

The Bachelor’s degree program provides broad undergraduate education in the areas of political science, social policy research, sociology, business and economics.  The program is comprehensive and

  • gives students a better understanding of complex social, political, and economic contexts and acquire the ability to analyze management projects
  • provides solid knowledge of institutions and policies, particularly the social protection system
  • gives students the skills necessary to work successfully as part of a team and manage projects

CAREER PROSPECTS

Students can individually determine areas of specialization when studying Social Economics, thus earning academic qualifications to pursue a career in a variety of areas:

  • Job responsibilities in a national or an international environment at a social economic institution or company (NPOs, NGOs)
  • Advising/counseling activities (such as working on behalf of the socially disadvantaged and representing their interests)
  • Job responsibilities in cross-system project management in the area of social affairs, economics, environment, politics, education, cultural concepts, organization and implementing educational, information, communication strategies
  • Application-oriented, networked research activities in social affairs, economics, environment, politics, education, or culture

  • Enrollment Procedure: Pre-register online and pass a written entrance examination (the written entrance examination is only given if there are more applicants to the program than spots available in the program)
