The last step to officially enrolling as a student at the Johannes Kepler University Linz is to pay the Austrian Student Union fee and, if applicable, your tuition fees within the respective deadline. Since you have until the end of the admission period and/or grace period to pay, we have designated this point as the last of your "first steps". Of course, you can always pay the fee(s) right after you enroll (see Step 2 ).
Austrian Student Union Fee
The Austrian Student Union fee is €20.20 (last update: Autumn 2019) to be paid each semester.
Degree-seeking students who are EU or EEA citizens enrolled in an academic degree program are EXEMPT from tuition fees during the designated time period given to earn an academic degree, plus two additional semesters (for Diploma degree programs: per section of study). Students who are subject to paying tuition fees by, for example, exceeding the designated period of study, will pay EUR 363.36 / semester (last update: January 2018).
Non-degree seeking students enrolled under "Außerordentliche Studierende" status are generally subject to paying tuition. Click here for additional information and special regulations.
There are two ways to pay the Austrian Student Union fee and/or tuition fees:
- At a Service Point kiosk using your card's Quick or ATM function
- Via bank transfer/online banking*
- You must enter your current customer information. See KUSSS (under "Tuition") to find this information!
During the admission period you will be required to pay the regular tuition or Austrian Student Union fee (see Step 2). During the grace period, the tuition fee for enrolled students will increase by 10%. The Austrian Student Union fee does NOT increase during the grace period!
- Failure to pay the Austrian Student Union fee and/or any tuition fees you may be subject to by the end of the deadline will result in being disenrolled from the university!
