Have you successfully completed the requirements as outlined in your degree program? Follow these steps to get your well-earned diploma!

To complete your degree program (Bachelor's, Master's, Diploma Degree) you need to have:

  • successfully passed all of your course examinations
  • successfully passed your last subject area examination (if applicable)
  • have passed the required additional examination in Latin or Descriptive Geometry before the last examination in the degree program (if applicable)
  • have fulfilled any supplementary examinations ("conditions") imposed upon admission (Master's) (if applicable)
  • earned a passing grade on your thesis
  • submitted an application for graduation (examination roster) 
  • and, if applicable, successfully passed your Bachelor's/Master's or Diploma degree examinations

The rules and regulations as outlined in the respective curricula apply to your degree.

You may complete your studies during the Summer Semester providing you have received a passing grade on your last examination, or on your thesis, by no later than October 31.
Make sure you submit a completed examination roster in a timely manner, taking the processing time into account, and submit any still required applications for credit transfer in order to be able to graduate during the semester you wish to graduate in.

Once the final course examination, or the last subject area examination, has been entered in to KUSSS, opens an external URL in a new window under  "Degree Completion", submit an application in order to complete your degree. Fill out an examination roster (=Prüfungsraster) and e-mail the form to the Office of Examinations and Recognition Services.

Please check that your personal details (name, academic degrees, nationality, etc.) are correct and up-to-date before submitting the examination roster. No changes can be made after the final documents have been issued.

If your degree program concludes with a Bachelor's/Master's/Diploma examination, indicate this information on the examination roster.

Approximately four weeks after successfully passing the final Bachelor's/Master's/first section of the Diploma degree/final Diploma degree examination and/or the final examination roster, you will receive the official conferral degree (issued in German and English) and the final certificate of completion.

Students must complete and submit the UHStat2, opens an external URL in a new window form (a census form regarding study-related stays abroad). Sending this confirmation by e-mail is a prerequisite in order to send the final documents.

After earning a Bachelor's degree:
You will be able to see information in KUSSS that you have earned your undergraduate degree. If you wish to pursue a Master's degree and you meet the admission requirements, you can proceed to the Admissions Office to enroll in a graduate degree program.

Completing a Bachelor's Degree

Please note that you must have already successfully completed the mandatory clinical traineeship and the academic credit should already be approved and that you have taken the additional Latin exam before the last exam (if available).

Bachelor's Degree in Law

The Bachelor's degree program in Law concludes with a comprehensive examination given by an examination committee.

In order to sign up and take the examination, the first step is to register and submit a completed examination roster to the Office of Examination and Recognition Services up to five weeks before the scheduled examination date. The second step requires registering for the subject area examination in KUSSS no later than three weeks before the scheduled examination date.

The prerequisite to register for the comprehensive examination is having successfully passed all of the required course work for this degree program. Complete and sign the examination roster and send it by e-mail to: pruefung-re(at)jku.at

If you still have to take a Bachelor's degree examination, you must agree on a date together with the examiner after completing the last course. Register four weeks before the examination date by submitting the examination roster to the Office of Examination and Recognition Services.

If you do not have to take a Bachelor's degree examination, after your last course examination for your degree program has been entered in KUSSS, opens an external URL in a new window under "Final Grades", you must submit a completed examination roster to the Office of Examination and Recognition Services in order to receive your degree.

 

Bachelor's Degree Program in Business Informatics

Please note the following when filling out the examination roster

  • If all courses of a subject from the old curriculum have been completed, they have to be entered in the old examination roster.
  • If at least one course of a subject has already been completed according to the current curriculum, all courses of this entire subject must be entered in the current examination roster with the help of the equivalence regulations of the study handbook and/or the transitional provisions of the curriculum. The course title may not be changed in the examination roster. Only the date and grade of each course must be entered. A subject must be filled in either completely in the old or in the new examination roster.
  • Both signed examination rosters must be submitted for the application for graduation.

If students are unable to complete their studies at the USB for any legal reasons, the USB state examination can be substituted with a final examination given at the JKU. If this is the case, students must submit the registration form (signed by the examination senate and advocated by Prof. Hochreiter) to the Office of Examinations and Recognition Services by no later than four weeks before the final examination. You must notify the Office of Examinations and Recognition Services (in person, in writing, or by phone) regarding the final examination date by no later than 10 days before the final examination date. By this time, you must have already completed the first part of the Bachelor's examination, and have received approval regarding registration form.

Master's Degree Program in Taxation Law and Taxation Management

The Master's degree program in Taxation Law and Taxation Management concludes with a Master's degree examination.

Students must agree on a date for the examination and register at the Office of Examination and Recognition Services three weeks before the examination date. In order register, you must have successfully passed all examinations and have completed the Master's thesis. Master's degree programs are concluded after successfully passing a final examination by commission. Students must agree on a date together with the examiner. Second Part of the Master's Degree Examination - Final Examination by Commission

Submit the completed registration form for the final examination by commission (signed by the examination senate) and approved by study praeses, opens a file to the Office of Examinations and Recognition Services no later than four weeks before the final examination by commission.

 

Final Examination Date

Register the examination date at the Office of Examinations and Recognition Services (in person, in writing, by phone) no later than 10 days before the final examination by commission.
At this time, the first part of the Master's degree examination and the Master's thesis must be completed!

Students enrolled in the Master's degree program are required to pass the Master's examination in order to complete the program. The student and the examiner must agree on an examination date. Once the date has been agreed upon, register the date at the Office of Examinations and Recognition Services and submit the completed examination roster no later than four weeks before the examination date.

Please submit the Master's thesis, opens in new window to the Office of Examinations and Recognition Services in a timely manner. Once the thesis has been submitted and beginning on that date, the supervisor must grade the thesis within a three-month period.
