Embedded Software Engineer

Part-Time, 15 - 20 hours/week

Support the Embedded Software Development team at the Corporate R&D Center for Software & Electronic in Hörsching. We are a central point of contact in the development and verification of embedded software for all of the Wacker Neuson Group's mobile machines. Bring your experience and ideas so we can make them part of the environment at an international group. Experience the way your software comes to life on real machines that include excavators, dumpers, wheel loaders, etc.

As a group-wide operating department, together we shape innovation, visions for the future, products and processes at all globally represented locations in the Wacker Neuson Group.
 

Your Responsibilities …

  • Implement functionally safe, module-based and model-based embedded software (C/C++, Matlab Simulink, ...) for machine controllers in mobile machines.
  • Verify software by means of unit, software/model-in-the-loop (SIL/MIL) and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing as well as commissioning and supporting integration testing directly on machines.
  • Coordinate, design and further develop modular-based and model-based software architecture.
  • Work closely with interdisciplinary development teams (hydraulics, electrics/electronics, powertrain, validation, etc.), external customers, and development partners.
  • Conceptually design, simulate and implement assistance systems using i.e.. AI/Computervision (ROS, Gazebo,..)

You …

  • are passionate about developing embedded software for excavators, dumpers, wheel loaders, etc.
  • possess a base-knowledge understanding of software development in support of embedded systems (C, C++, Python, etc.)
  • possess a base-knowledge understanding of simulation/model-based software development (Matlab Simulink with Embedded Coder, ROS, Gazebo)
  • enjoy learning about software engineering and requirements engineering
  • enjoy combining hydraulics, electronics and software in an interdisciplinary way

The base salary (collective agreement for the Metallurgical industry) for full-time employment is € 2,763.02 net.
