Welcome Week is an opportunity to get to know your university before starting your studies, meet classmates and fellow students as well as learn everything you need to know for a successful start to your university experience.

Science Busters, soccer and volleyball tournaments, campus tours, parties and more ... Kicking off your studies at the JKU:
After checking in at the Kepler Hall, you will pick up your JKU ‘swag bag’ and then get ready to explore the campus! Use your voucher to get your swag bag (you will receive the voucher via e-mail once you have been admitted to the university).
The JKU Somnium observation platform, the Science Park, the floating café at the by the university pond, dining halls, libraries... Join our guides and your fellow students on a tour of the JKU campus! At the end of the tour, enjoy a welcome drink together in front of the new JKU Learning Center
You can also take a campus tour that focuses more on your major - law, social sciences, business & economic sciences, engineering, computer sciences, or natural sciences. This is an ideal way to get to know your future fellow classmates
The dates are full but there is a possibility to take part on short notice, see the program.
Our JKU "Study Buddies" Luca & JKU social media manager Gregor will take you on a virtual tour of campus, showing you their favorite spots and what they think are the most important places for students on campus to know about. During the tour, they will also give away cool items from the JKU Merchandise Shop and a brunch box from the Teichwerk!

Games, sports & fun are also part of starting your studies! Try out classes offered by the University Sports Institute (USI) or join in on the fun and practice your team spirit playing a beach volleyball tournament, soccer, bubble-ball, or beer pong at the Raiffeisen OÖ-Freizeitarea.
Join in the fun at the Circus of Knowledge as 'Science Busters' Martin Puntigam and Martin Moder perform their program "Corona Spezial" on Tuesday, October 5, at 6 PM.
Learn more about the University Orchestra by listening in during a rehearsal session (string instrument rehearsals on Mondays and wind instrument rehearsals on Wednesdays) at the Pfarrsaal Hl.Geist, Schumpeterstraße 3, 4040 Linz.
Also, mark the start of your studies by enjoying your first student party of the year!
Push those pedals as part of the the Raiffeisen of Upper Austria Bike Challenge! Rack up those stationary kilometers and you could win one of many great prizes! You can take part without signing up in advance. Take the Bike Challenge by the Raiffeisen container next to the beach volleyball courts.
Discover just how committed your university is to sustainability and get to know the campus from a new and different perspective! There is also a grand prize waiting just for you: We will raffle off a large, sustainable JKU merchandise package!
Are you interested in working while studying, do you need help with the application process, or do you need information about grants and scholarships? Are you a student who needs childcare? Are things a bit tough at the moment in your studies or in your personal life and you would like to talk to someone you can trust?
We offer many different services on campus to help you during your studies, ranging from making friends to managing your time more efficiently. Welcome Week is an opportunity to learn more about these services and talk with representatives directly.
Between classes, you can relax on lounge chairs located next to the university pond. Enjoy music and entertainment or browse the university library's book flea market.
A drone catch net, edible hedges, a floating café, and much more at the JKU - and at any time! If you have time to take a walk, grab your smartphone to visit the spots on the map and use the QR codes for info. You'll find a lot of interesting information about your university.
