The Bachelor's degree program in Technical Physics focuses on base-knowledge education in natural phenomena, exploring just how advances in technology are based in natural sciences. Areas of Specialization
- As part of the Bachelor's degree program in Technical Physics, you first expand your basic knowledge in physics by studying mechanics, thermodynamics, electricity, magnetism, waves, optics, photonics, atomic and subatomic physics, solid state physics.
- You acquire solid education in theoretical physics: mathematical methods in physics as well as theoretical mechanics, electrodynamics, quantum mechanics and thermodynamics.
- In the field of mathematics, you learn analysis and linear algebra for physicists.
- In addition, you will learn chemistry for physicists and are introduced to programming, biophysics, electronics and measurement technology, nanosciences and nanomaterials.

As part of the Bachelor’s degree program, students are required to complete courses totaling 180 ECTS credits in the following subject areas:
Studies Introduction and Orientation Phase (StEOP)
After enrolling in a Bachelor's degree program, you will be required to complete the StEOP requirements at the start of your studies. The StEOP requirements consists of certain courses that are outlined in the curriculum. If you take other academic courses before completing the required StEOP courses, you will only get limited academic credit.
Admission to Studies
In order to be admitted to the Bachelor's degree program, you must fulfill the following requirements.
- Hold general higher education entrance qualifications (such as an Austrian "Matura" diploma)
- If your first language is not German, you will be required to submit proof of B2 level of language proficiency in German.
