Similarly, items we rely on daily – from the microwave to our smartphones – would be inconceivable without a comprehension of physics. PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

The Bachelor’s degree program provides a solid education of physics as well as skills to conduct scientific research and communicate findings. Students can also hone skills to:

  • Independently solve problems by applying physical methodology
  • Pursue a graduate degree in technical physics or related subfields at universities in Austria or abroad
  • Pursue a variety of professions, particularly those that require being an active part of an interdisciplinary team

  • Conduct academic research at universities and in non-university sectors

ADVANCED DEGREES AT THE JKU

Newly enrolled students can take revision courses before beginning studies:

  • Preparation courses: These courses have been designed for new students and provide a condensed review of material taught at higher levels schools in order to prepare students for initial university-level lectures. Attendance is optional.
  • Mentoring program: : JKU faculty members meet with newly enrolled students in small groups and provide tips and advice pertaining to studies.
  • JKU Young Physics Scientists: A unique, comprehensive educational program designed to provide gifted high-school students  from upper level AHS and BHS schools with an opportunity to take part in workshops during the school year and learn more about the field of Physics.
