The JKU's Diploma degree program in Business Education combines academic studies in business with education, didactic techniques, and psychology. The curriculum contains a broad qualification spectrum where you can choose your focus or field of specialization. The formula "Business + Education" and the balanced relationship between theory and hands-on practices means that graduates are in high demand and can pursue careers in business, adult education, counseling activities and/or as a business teacher at middle and higher-level vocational and upper-level schools (polyvalent studies).

The academic degree program in Business Education provides students with an academic and scientific basis to better understand how to diagnose, analyze and solve problems in a factually and morally responsible manner within the vocational education system, in business and in a research capacity. Students are taught how to create learning processes, take a critical look at scientific findings and methods, and actively take part in discussions regarding business and educational policies. The program aims to help students hone multi-disciplinary core skills, including the ability and willingness to study independently, shape one's own life in a socially responsible as well as professional way, and exercise a strong social skill set.



Graduates of the Business Education program can pursue a variety of professions, including:

  • Teaching at vocational middle and higher-level schools
  • Teaching in the area of adult education (such as at BFI, WIFI, etc.)
  • Teaching and organizational activities at companies (vocational and company education)
  • Teaching and organizational activities at public agencies, economic chambers, associations, clubs
  • Higher-level activities for commercial professions
  • Independent employment at companies, organizations, management, human resources consulting
