Our department’s responsibilities include issues pertaining to human resource development and organizational development as well as equality-related matters such as the advancement of women, diversity and work/university – family balance.
The Department Human Resources Development, Gender & Diversity Management is an organizational unit of JKU’s Central Services subject to directives; assigned functionally as well as legally to the Vice-Rectorate for Research, Gender and Diversity, it is structured into two sections:
The Human Resources Development Unit engages central tasks of human resource development and organizational development and provides JKU’s employees and organizational units with a broad range of training and further education opportunities and with consultation that is both personal- and organization-specific. It supervises team-building measures and offers executive coaching; it is responsible for implementing corporate health-care measures, for the Dual Career Service, and for initiating career development- and networking programs for female researchers.
The Gender & Diversity Management Unit supports the rectorate concerning all affairs equality, advancement of women and diversity and coordinates internal communication between those university entities at JKU that are tasked with gender and equality issues (Equal Opportunities Committee, IFG). Gender and Diversity Management handles all facets connected to equal-treatment, diversity and the reconciliation of work/university and family life. It continually devises and realizes gender mainstreaming efforts, strategies and programs.
