Course number: 366.590 (lecture) und 366.591 - 366.595 (excercise)

Introductory statistics course for AI students, focusing on:

  • descriptive statistics: univariate and bivariate summary statistics
  • graphical methods for presenting data
  • introduction into combinatorics
  • introduction into probability theory, conditional probabilities (including Bayes' theorem) 
  • introduction into the concept of random variables
  • discrete and continuous probability distributions
  • inductive statistics: point estimators, confidence intervals, hypothesis testing

In the corresponding excerise the statistics program package R is introduced.
